Our Mission

Each student will be known by a core group of teachers and other adults within the school. These adults will know the student’s needs, interests, and aspirations, closely monitor each student’s progress, and provide the academic challenges and supports needed for success.

South Salem High Awarded Grant

Our 5 year grant is intended to assist our drive to meet the standards defined by the No Child Left Behind Act.  Specifically, we intend to help students meet academic standards in mathematics and reading, and increase the graduation rate for students at South.

The Smaller Learning Communities grant provides funding to help us focus our energies on improving student achievement.  Funding for teacher attendance at conferences and workshops, and planning time to coordinate academic programs are the primary means by which the grant supports our school improvement initiatives.
